Ferrara Manufacturing welcomed Deputy Mayor Adolfo Carrión, Jr. and NYCEDC COO Melissa Román Burch to its Long Island City factory for a behind-the-scenes tour and conversation on the future of local industry. The visit spotlighted Ferrara’s ongoing commitment to creating high-quality jobs and revitalizing American manufacturing across the five boroughs.
NBC News joined the tour to capture the story and interview Gabrielle and Joseph Ferrara about how domestic production continues to evolve. The segment aired as part of a broader look at new initiatives supporting businesses relocating and expanding within New York City.
Ferrara’s own relocation—from the Garment District to Long Island City—was made possible in part by the city’s Relocation and Employment Assistance Program (REAP). The move allowed the company to grow into a state-of-the-art facility with expanded square footage, greater accessibility for employees and clients, and on-site parking—features rarely found together in Manhattan.
The visit offered a unique opportunity to highlight how Ferrara blends heritage craftsmanship with modern scalability—and how targeted investment in infrastructure and policy can help local businesses thrive while remaining rooted in New York City.
